Hi!
I have the following problem:
Once you've installed the TRLE you can play the original Playable Tutorial Level.
In the beginning you can see a string "The year 2000, somewhere in Egypt". The point
is that I want a string like that to appear in another level, e.g. The Tomb of Seth. I do the following:
In the script.txt file I add a command "Legend=" and give it a name "Checking". Then I save
this file. Now, if I run script.bat file a message occurs - Error: "Checking" not found in strings.
(Though I didn't have this problem a day ago at all). OK. I open english.txt file, go to [Strings] line
and add a new line "Checking". Then I save this file and run script.bat again. Everything seems
to be fine for now but when the game loads all the titles (string) have only one symbol, for example:
Instead of New Game - g , Load game - o, Options - d and so on with ALL strings. What should I do?
Thank You in advance !
Sincereally yours, Tomber !!!

You have to add "checking" to the english.txt as well. I had this same problem my first time.

From what has been posted I can only assume that pwhirl DID read to the end... did you? He gave you the solution, so what's your problem?

Best regards,
Striffelbuur.

As far as I know you cannot add any more lines to the 'English.txt' file. You must overwrite one of the existing messages, 'Cambodia 1984' for example. Otherwise you'll get the messed up title screen.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Thanx!
I've just got it. But it's not necessary to overwrite those two lines exactly, I can replace any line in english.txt (except lines for Playstation or what's there - whatever).
P.S. I didn't have to replace any lines in english.txt file a few days ago at all but still everything worked !!!
